As Communications & PR Manager you'll implement the Company’s public relations strategy by developing and generating brand awareness as well as earned and owned media globally. This role will work closely with all marketing disciplines, product teams and internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be digital-savvy and have experience in strategic planning, media relations, content development, product publicity, events, managing agencies, and a strong understanding of the media landscape. This position reports to the VP of Marketing.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement the internal and external communications plan including appropriate measurement and metrics to monitor and analyze the performance of all PR and event efforts

  • Work closely with the marketing team, and becoming an integrated voice for earned media opportunities supporting their ongoing initiatives

  • Effectively manage and engage agency partners from briefing to execution to ongoing management and reporting,  managing multiple international agencies.

  • Manage annual reporting and project budgets, updating budget actuals to projected quarterly

  • Continually develop and implement creative ideas that drive innovative and unexpected storytelling that will move the needle with pitching, thought leadership, and newsworthy stories to continue to move InteraXon forward in brand and thought leadershipActively pitch ongoing coverage for the brand, and direct always-on media engagement strategy.

  • Act as an ambassador for the brand in hosting media at events and experience activations, as well as build and nurture relationships with social media influencers throughout the country

  • Coordinate influencer seeding – building lists, pulling product, packaging seeding kits and overseeing delivery logistics.

  • Update weekly PR & Events calendar.

  •  Support lead generation for top tier guests to be hosted on our Untangle podcast.

  • New market expansion and development: continue the momentum of pitching and securing coverage placements, as well as securing partnerships with Subject Matter Experts in new regions and learn the PR landscapes of emerging markets 

  • Responsible for writing press materials including pitches, panel development, press releases, alerts, messaging and interview briefing documents

  • Work closely with brand and corporate spokespeople to brief, media train and facilitate interviews

  • Be a product expert for the global team, driving development of seasonal messaging and media materials for all gift guides holiday and other

  • Help the senior leadership with Investor relations materials, PR summaries to all retail vendors as well as internal communication support

  • Support team with issues and crisis communications as needed

  • Advocate for and recommend speaking opportunities and thought-leadership initiatives to increase and widen understanding of the company’s industry contributions including actively pitch relevant podcasts for the leadership team to showcased on   

  • Complete award applications & report on success (or failure!)


  • Build event strategy, including recommending and negotiating as well as planning and execution of consumer, media, and B2B events; Thought Leader (speaking and PR) pitching (ie picking up where Cred left off); managing multiple international agencies. 

  • Work closely with current marketing initiatives and community initiatives to organize and plan events with clear budget, logistics, and launch plans in place prior for review

Your skills and experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree required – Journalism, Communications and/or PR preferred
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Communications/PR

  • A background working in the consumer electronics and/or wearable technology space either on the brand or agency side is very beneficial 

  • Strong copywriting skills as well as strong writing and editing skills; ability to adapt style to a variety of audiences

  • Ability to bring forward strategic insights and translate them into practical programs

  • Strong negotiating and influencing skills – ability to influence and inspire trust at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work directly with senior executives on sensitive and urgent projects

  • Proven event management and organizational skills, liaising with suppliers, and ability to multitask and prioritize

  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills

  • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, diverse environment

  • Ability to travel as needed to events, tradeshows and media events
